Hi all, I’ll start with a quick intro of myself/my situtation. I’m 19, two para-suicides. I am now certain that I want to die. My last attempt was an overdose on anti-depressants and paracetamol which failed, before that, a cutting of the wrist. Now that I am sure, however, I’d like to go peacefully. I’ve refrained from giving anyone any hints and just really want to be left alone at this point, very tired. I don’t feel like I have the necessary skills required to function in this world and furthermore I have very little desire to do so. I live alone so suicide over […]
rational
there are two of me. the rational and the irrational. the rational me realizes it all comes down to the money. it is what makes the world go around. if you don’t have it your needs and wants are irrelevant. the same can be said about any kind of healthcare. mental health especially. it was rationed out like it was going to break the bank. as long as those insurance checks keep coming all is well. the “rational” me is very cynical, she doesn’t believe there are better days in my future. it is at this point where the rational and irrational meld. the irrational […]
This is what I was told today:
Calculus isn’t even difficult, but fuck that. It’s gonna get harder, and…you should switch your major. There’s physics, (which requires Calculus II), and statistics, and linear algebra, and you suck at math. And algorithms and data structures are math classes; and so is foundations of computer science.
Yep, great way to live life. If it’s hard, fuck it. Every rational person does that.
People suck. Way to be supportive.
By legitimate, I don’t mean legal. Obviously, most people here are going through some type of (intense) pain. What I mean is, are there circumstances, both internal and external to an individual, which a group of mature, impartial observers would agree are so unbearable, and so unlikely to be changed, that suicide is a rational choice, maybe even a compassionate one ?
I once met someone who said that no one should commit suicide before 40, because s/he hadn’t lived enough to know what his/her possibilities were.
And not I’m talking about the sanctity of life issue, which being a religious/personal one, can never be decided on […]
Its been a really long time since I posted here. I thought, maybe I was getting better or stronger, but I was kidding myself, pretending to be happy in case the semblance eventually turned into something real. I try to be rational and tell myself I am not worthless, I am not ugly, I am not stupid, and I actually believe myself for a fraction of time. Then I go outside and try to interact with people and am reminded of how I have nothing to offer anyone. What am I missing that makes someone appealing to another human being? How did I get to […]
So I really don’t have any reason to continue living. I don’t believe in God, and think the chances of our conscious dying when we die is very likely. We are our thoughts, so we are our brain, so when our brain dies, we die as our conscious become unconscious. You can’t be aware while unconscious, not of yourself, or anything. That may seem obvious, but many people don’t realize or understand this. So that means that we, in a sense, will no longer exist after we die. Our thoughts will stop, and we are our thoughts, so we stop. There will be no darkness […]
