Yeah… being your own worst enemy sucks.
Here’s a random potentially thought provoking thing I found:
One evening, an elderly Cherokee brave told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said “my son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.
one is evil. it is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
the other is good.
it is joy, peace love, hope serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
the grandson though about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
“which wolf wins?…”
the old cherokee simply replied, “the one that you feed”.
I always thought about this. Can we really ever hate “everything about our lives?” There are many reasons we can hate our lives. Because we’re heartbroken. Stuck in one place. Pain keeps getting inflicted upon us. All of those at once. The thing is, we say we hate “everything” about our lives because we’ve lost everything that *was* our life. Not really “lost”, rather, all those things are in a disastrous state or in a separate state that can’t make us happy at the moment.
Once upon a time the things we lost made us happy. Filled us with joy. At the very least they didn’t cause misery during the days of smiles. All those things are still here for us though. They are just out of reach.
So instead of losing everything, in the end, is it just watching our happiness find oblivion? We know where it is. We just can’t get it.

valid point. i wish it were that simple, though
Yeah I know… some people take hold of that sort of thing, see inspiration, and eat it up! I’m not one of those, I was hoping you were 😉
Mostly cause I really don’t know how to help… other than I feel your pain (more or less) enough to know I can’t do anything but listen.

Just something I often think about.
