I Love The World I just Hate Humanity

I’m not making the world significantly worse in any way, and my absence would not make the world “better-off.”

Some of us just get tired of putting up with other people’s bullshit all the time… we get sick of being the only one always expected to do all the compromising… and so we draw the line, and people cross it, and we react, and they call us assholes… even though they’re the assholes.

I was thinking of this the other day: People like to say “why can’t we all just get along!???” Well, the reason is that not everyone understands that mutually beneficial cooperation is valuable or important. Some people don’t want to get along; they want everyone else to do all the getting along, and make all the compromises so they don’t have to. That’s why. And the only way to fix that is to start with parents who don’t bother teaching their kids why it’s important to cooperate, share, take turns, compromise, and that the whole world doesn’t revolve around them. But no, people can’t be asked to bear any responsibility for their actions, or being held accountable for raising their offspring… instead, they are encouraged to “give it up to GAWUDAH!” and let “God” take responsibility for controlling everything… so they can feel like it’s not really their own fault for making stupid choices; no, it’s “god’s will.” “He works in mysterious ways!” But apparently, not logical or reasonable ways, and not ways that result in minimized human suffering. And not ways that result in most people being optimized for making the best possible impact on their environments.

It’s not the species that sucks, it’s the people controlling what information is allowed to be learned by the masses, which keeps most people from understanding how to improve, or even that they could.
