What do I do if I’m extremely triggered to self-harm. I mean, extremely, extremely triggered and I feel like I’m about to have a panic attack if I don’t cut. What do I do?
Is there a healthier alternative that you can think of? For example: Instead of snacking on potato chips, I snack on carrot sticks and that works just fine for me (most of the time).
Consider your options, consider your alternatives. what could you do instead of, what could you do to distract these feelings? what will acting on them do for you? will it make anything better or change your situation?
Release the tension by going for a run, power walk, sit ups etc. If you have access to a punching bag use it. The above will release endorphins and hopefully curb the panic attack. Temporary fix until you can speak with someone you trust. is there anyone?
emotionalnightmare, 1st throw out the razors! 2nd take a deep breath and say to yourself that was close! panic attacks is something you can control by telling yourself, it’s not real and it’s not. get your mind off what your thinking about that cause it. think about something else.

When that happens to me, and I can find no other alternatives, I just let the panic attack come. I ride it out. Panic attacks are always temporary.
