I know this will probably sound very very stupid
but i know 1 natural way that puts me to sleep in no time
if you have onions
get a lobe
Eat it with some bread
Drink a cup or two of water
Wait 20 to 30 minutes
Get to bed & close ur eyes
[note: since natural so no side effects except one; ur stomach will feel a bit “wobly” bacause onion is also a natural disinfectant & antiseptic, so don’t worry, it’s like an clean up]
Zolpidem will knock you out hard, but you need a prescription for that. Also there are reports that it increases depression and risk of suicide. Benadryl is safer but it takes a while, doesn’t always work, and sometimes makes you more awake/irritable. But it’s available over the counter. Then there are herbal extracts like valerian root, melatonin, St John’s wort. Those don’t do much for me but others say they work, and they’re totally safe. You could try FLNAD’s suggestion above and add heavy refined carbs (pasta, bread, white rice) for an extra carb crash. That’s effective but 2 problems, it’s not a “deep” sleep (you’ll probably wake up a few hrs later) and also if you have image/weight issues it’s not good to eat carbs and sleep because it goes straight to fat if you don’t exercise. I hope you find a way that works. I’ve struggled with insomnia for 10 years and I just keep trying different things, but each has its drawbacks.

There’s an antihistamine I use called Piriton which makes me very drowsy. It’s so good that sometimes I take it just for that purpose.
Thanks this is really helpful! I hope your insomnia gets better. I get the struggle 🙁
