I look like a spoiled brat keep flinging throwing paper, punching on the table and burst into tears, my mom asked me “What happened? Fill her in.” I said because my TSI reading score is appalling and I cannot pass the TSI reading test. I don’t like the TSI reading test because it keeps bugging me some sesquipedalian to describe a word that’s very long humongous and multisyllabic words I don’t even know like ravenous, sanguine, prominent, upholding, vigilance, … My mom said let settle down, get over it, look on the bright side, and put that test behind me. I gulped down some water and started to take the INRW classes, but I still don’t know a way to pass the TSI reading in no time.
I cannot pass TSI reading test because I have been living in Vietnam for 16 years and English is my second language. I only have been in America for 4 years, I don’t know a way to learn English vocabulary synonyms fast. I feel like I don’t belong to America because I was born in Vietnam.

I must confess that I’d never even heard of the TSI test before. If you can’t pass the test, will that really be such a disaster? It sounds to me like you’ll just have to take a few extra classes at worst. I’m sure there are plenty of people like you who have trouble with the test just because English is their second language.
Maybe you could try to make some more Vietnamese-American friends? Maybe you could make an extra effort to get to know some of the older people, who came over young like you did but who have now been living here a while. I don’t know–I’m not claiming to have any particular answers, just throwing ideas out there.

Throwing some more thoughts out there. You could try looking for Vietnamese groups on meetup.com, or maybe general Asian-American groups, which will probably have some Vietnamese people in them. You could try looking for a Vietnamese or Asian-American group at your local college. You could even find a Vietnamese-owned small business, and come in as a customer and strike up a conversation with the owners and mention you’re looking to make more Vietnamese friends.
Well, a lot Vietnamese is born in America, native language speaker can just past the TSI test so easily. And they cannot speak Vietnamese because the only language they speak is English just like President Trump said English is official, they make the English so hard for non-native language speaker.
Sanguine – I would describe as calming and peaceful for example “a sanguine temperament ”
Ravenous – blood thirsty, like a wild animal
Prominent – I would describe as being FRONT and CENTER “the blue in the painting was a prominent part of the artwork”
Upholding – SOMETHING that does not fall
Apart, That withstands the test of time, for example, Faith. Or to uphold a law – to respect the law and not break because the law stands no matter what.
Vigilance – having a mindset to get something done in a timely and correct manner. “She wanted to complete her project by 4 and it was 1 already so she had to be very vigilant” or “she was so vigilant she never missed a day of school”

Yes, it is very difficult but I think you are doing very well. You are communicating clearly here. Don’t quit!
One way of learning vocabulary and pronunciation is to watch your favorite movies in English (or the language you are trying to learn) and try to speak the way they do. When I moved to France from the USA, I spent weeks watching all my favorite American movies with the French language track on.
This may not help you learn multisyllabic, verbose, bombastic, sesquipedalian words (haha) but it may help you become comfortable enough to continue studying. Good luck!
