I find myself addicted to pornography and masturbation, and often times I actually enjoyed it. I’m a christian, and it really gives you low confidence in God when you can’t let go of sin. Here I am on relapse after trying to abstain for over 2 weeks. But in my relapse it is not the same as before, it is not despair and me feeling like I’ll never make it in life. I can stand and believe that “He who started a good work in me will see it unto completion.”. I decided to learn from my relapses rather than view them as mistakes. A common factor in all this is loneliness. That’s why we all watch porn, because it makes us not feel left behind. It really does restructure our chemistry to not care if people care about us. In this dark world, this philosophy thrives because we tell ourselves people don’t care about us. That’s the curse of humanity, loneliness and sin. Suicide, Abuse, Self-harm, porn, masturbation, fornication; a desperate attempt at escaping loneliness. But only the few who will be able to see that God walks with them, though they don’t feel and see it, will be in God’s throne room. We need to fight loneliness with Christ righteousness, and heaven consciousness.

Your speech was good, for christians
But is not only that
Talk and share help others persons against loneliness.
If the matter is sexual than go and fuck some whore or met someone, it isnt easy, but is better than marry the wrong person
I am trying to help, but these are things people don’t talk about. The matter is not sexual, the matter is spiritual. Ask yourself what kind of life is a life of sleeping with prostitutes and different girls? A sad and wicked life. God designed man to seek companionship, there’s something about finding that person who will love you as much as you love them, who will put their lives on the line for you. Why is divorce so plentiful? The reason people marry the wrong person is that they revel in fornication. Sex confuses good judgement. Take sex out of the courting process and let people choose partners based on intellect and moral decision-making, not sex.
Sin is a stupid idea designed to enslave people to a death cult. Sex is natural, normal part of being a human. You should probably watch a ton of secular music by George Michael, Madonna and other artists and real some Atheist philosophers like Nietzsche, Foucault, Sam Harris, C. Hitchens and Richard Dawkins.
You’re just caught in a mental trap of religion, dumb outdated ideas that don’t belong in the 21st century. Jesus, God, hell, heaven it’s all man-made fiction, you fell for a silly desert fable. Drop that junk and be yourself. Also watch a bunch of Atheist Experience/Matt Dillahunty videos, he’s a smart guy.
Stop feeling guilty for something that isn’t a crime or a mistake.

Mostly true in fact I’ll agree with everything you said. Except murder is a sin and that’s a sin that’s ok to have. You shouldn’t murder people.
And yet we send people out to other countries to murder them call it war and say it’s ok. Well that’s a bit backwards. So I guess if you and the person you don’t like join the army it’s perfectly fine. I don’t get it. But I still stick to you shouldn’t murder people.
@Hope,
Yes killing is a wrong and it is against the law except in self-defense and warfare. But we didn’t need religion to tell us that. Humans invented these rules to protect each other over thousands of years, mostly by philosophical debate and common sense.
Otherwise we’d have died off as a species long ago. We learned to cooperate and work toward our collective survival, so not killing each other over arguments/disputes and creating alternate punishments allowed us to thrive.
Religion just hijacked some of these ideas for its own purposes. However things that used to be considered wrong/immoral, like working on Sunday or eating shellfish/pork have been discarded by most people.
Religion also co-opted the body and made people feel ashamed for experiencing pleasure, which is part of a natural reproductive function. It’s all about controlling other humans and stealing their wealth.
If I could convince you that I talk to some magic sky fairy and if you believe that garbage, then you’ll come to me for advice on how to live a ‘good’ life and I’d exploit you for money. Religions have been doing this for thousands of years and continue to this day.
If people could think for themselves, they’d realize they were being scammed and religions would collapse overnight. Nowadays there’s no excuse for not knowing. I grew up in a pre-internet age, my local library was my second home. Today though all the knowledge of the world is a keyboard click away. People can easily outgrow these backwards forms of superstition and illogical thinking if they wanted to.
Well self defense to a degree. Like if they’re stabbing you with a knife and you just happen to have one and you blindly stab back out of fear and accedently kill him. You may still be charged. It’s a slippery slope with that one. Where as if they have no weapons and you stab them you will definitly be charged. At least that’s how it works here.
And not all religions are scams. Like paganism. Their entire thing is just be nice basically. Nothing really special going on. I mean if you join….i think it’s called a coven that’s where I fall down with the religion though….anyway if you join one of those then yes they may scam you for money. But if you practice it by yourself who’s getting scammed unless you’re stealing your own money lol.
Sure there are exceptions but we as humans created all kinds of rules and caveats around these issues.
Before there was science, religion provided answers that seemed reasonable at the time (because we didn’t know any better), until we began to learn about our universe, then religion became outdated.
Certainly not all religions are evil. No doubt some tried to earnestly help humanity like Buddhism but as I was saying, we have advanced far beyond religions so they’re largely superfluous and some are harmful.
I’ve found that some religions are too pacifist so that almost makes them a threat to their followers. If you’re not willing to fight for your freedom/way of life then you will end up getting enslaved or conquered by your enemies.
It’s just best if people read everything they can, not just one or two so-called ‘holy books.’ Because other books contain far more wisdom.
I personally don’t have an issue with religions until they trespass on my rights and freedoms, something that Christianity, Islam and some other religions do explicitly which makes them my problem, such as on the issue of Abortion and Euthanasia.
Religions naturally believe their are the best answer for humanity and they seek to dominate and supplant other views/opinions. If religious people kept their beliefs to themselves and didn’t try to influence/shape our politics/laws, then we’d probably wouldn’t have any conflicts, but we know in the real world they’re conflicting with Secular culture (and other religions) all the time.
Fortunately religions are dying off thanks to the rise of the internet but some will remain a thorn in our sides for a long time until something is done about them Christianity/Islam in particular.
excuse the typos, it’s late and I didn’t proofread.
I’m not a fool, I have the evidence I need to believe in God. Any time you want to ask, I’ll be here to talk. The principles of the bible aren’t outdated, people think they are so smart, well look you at now with all your intelligence the only thing you’ve managed to cultivate is misery and pain.
@WW, I’m not interested in talking, what I want is to meet this God of yours and have him demonstrate his magic powers. Anything less is insufficient. But of course he doesn’t exist, because if he did then it’d be a well known fact like the Eiffel tower for example and we wouldn’t be debating it.
It is identical to reading a comic book about Superman and then claiming he is real, you “believe” because that book says so. Believing doesn’t make something real or true.
The trouble with Believers is that you don’t really read or consider the points that Atheists raise. You immediately get defensive and start hurling taunts and insults if someone simply asks for proof for your beliefs.
The only reason you’re a believer today is because you were brainwashed into religion, just as I once was. The difference between you and me is that I was always an objective thinker, I put religion to the test, realized that prayers didn’t work and all the other stuff religion teaches is BS as well.
Keep believing in your desert fables my friend if it makes you happy, it is no skin off my nose. I simply tried to point out that you don’t need to worry about sin or feel guilty since there is no God but clearly you prefer your own misery/pain that you get from these beliefs.
Yes we Atheists suffer for our own reasons but at least we don’t fret over an invisible magic psychopath invented by primitive humans, who’ll torture you forever if you don’t love him, so that’s one less headache we have to deal with.
Idk guys, I knew a high school teacher that was asked to work for NASA, and he was a deacon for the Catholic Church because “you never know” lol
Spirituality is a beautiful thing. Let people have it! Negative nancies.
In the beginning, man created god.
. . . well, at some point well beyond the beginning, anyways. We needed some way to explain our origin, purpose and destiny, as well as our creator, so we fashioned a clever fairy tale that has no logic or factual content to support it, called it religion, and away we went. Then one fine day, an intelligent heretic suggested that we might not be the center of the universe, science began to take over with logic and fact, and the real fun started.
Don’t sweat the silly rules and regulations, my man. I also had that garbage force fed to me for decades. Today, it’s laughable. Noone will punish you for impure thoughts, except yourself.
When you’re born atheist, you have a different view because you never bother to ask questions. When you’re born christian the same thing. But I haven’t believe on God simply by Faith alone, but because I have also found sufficient evidence to prove that God is real. You know it’s funny you say I punish myself, but who is punishing who? Look at society today, full of drunkards, fornicators, hateful and angry people, disobedient, riotous; all the name of doing what they like. And this has cause so much pain, both to children and society. Living righteously is for both my good and those around me, so how can I be punishing myself? You’d indulge in porn because you don’t think about the people in those videos. Porn stars commit suicide in the 1000s because they get abused and they have found no love in that wicked industry, but you ignorant as you are go around saying i care; if you cared about people you’d see that people are hurting. You ignore people because they arent your immediate family; you’re just being evil. If you ever what to know why God is real, I’m always ready.
The thing is Christian or not Christian everyone has issues and is a bit screwed up, if believing in the Bible gives you hope and a sense of purpose then great, it’s no less rational to be a Christian than to not be one. And it’s great that you want to take the moral high road, just try to not be too harsh on yourself and others.
Let’s not grill the OP on his religious views. Point taken, a lot of us on here are Athiests.
He’s expressing his religious views, are we not allowed to express ours?
Don’t be so timid and afraid of offending others-you have as much right as anyone else to express your views and beliefs.
There is nothing wrong with watching porn and masturbating.
Although I have recently ventured to researching the seven ‘deadly’ sin of lust and inquiring on something called “lechery” which is very mucky and icky.
