What a crazy world to live in where so much of your future is determined by what hand you were born with and what zip code/area you grew up in.
And yet you still have so many people at the ready to yell, “but just work hard! Keep at it! Hard work pays off, just you watch. Bootstraps. Mindset. Put in those extra hours. Climb that ladder.” Do they not see it themselves how they’re dismissing how much else is involved with making it in this world? To name a few: the family you were born into, the area you grew up in, the connections you’re able to make at the university you went to (from which the first 2 listed were involved in your acceptance), the leg up you might get from your race/gender/age/looks/etc., the state of your psychological health, your access to healthcare to address your psychological health and/or physical health, your transportation options, how much knowledge you have of navigating school/workfield, education of acquiring/managing/spending finances, access to mentors/tutors/other professionals to guide you along the way, and oh yea the big one many don’t like to admit: luck. Luck is actually the first one to factor into all of this, since it’s all a luck of the draw in regards to which family you are born into.
So that’s where I am in terms of how I think about the world currently. What a crazy place filled with a bunch of crazy people. So many being born on third thinking they hit a triple. And remember, if you take all of their advice and try your hardest and still don’t succeed, well then you can chalk that up to the old saying, “life’s just not fair.” At least say that at the beginning: life’s not fair. Now that’s, sadly, one of the few true statements. Who would want to participate in a sport where you already know it’s not going to be fair going into it? And yet here we all are, playing that sport. Some even encourage others to get more involved in it. And if you can’t get a leg up then somehow it’s something you’re not doing enough of. Try harder. Yeah? Try harder? How about, “Fuck you to your try harder. You want me to try harder in a fucked up delusional world. Where the chips have been stacked against me since day 1 and that stack only increased in height over the years, oftentimes from no fault of my own. How about you try harder to really take a look at how unfair the world is and admit that this shits rigged from the start all the way to the end.” The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. That phrase will only become more true as time goes on. Or point me to some statistics that say otherwise or show me a time in the past where that wasn’t the case.
If it’s worth anything to you, thanks for reading if you made it all the way through. The world’s a fucked up crazy place for many. Insane that we’re all just here, living, accepting this bullshit. What a testament to show how powerless and brainwashed so many of us are to the relatively few that have the pleasure and fortune to have a truly enjoyable experience here on this planet.

Normies suck. Here’s hoping they all die painful deaths.
You’re absolutely right. I’ve learned to keep this knowledge to myself irl. Humans like to be blissfully ignorant, until they suffer. Then they temporarily gain wisdom, but discard it as soon as the Wheel turns again. Then they start shouting their platitudes at others. It’s insufferable. You can see things clearly; hopefully that is some consolation.
Yeah I keep it to myself in real life as well. You got it right, too many blissfully ignorant people out there. They’d rather continue to exist in their bubble. Whatever, fine, just wish they would have the self-awareness to at least admit that’s what they’re doing.
Thanks for the comment
Class consciousness.
That kind of thing you speak of has been pissing people off for a long, long time. Myself included.
Social privilege is often bullshit, and for that bullshit to go at the level it is now, a lot of people must live diminished lives.
I hate this real-world / real-life / reality so much with every fiber of my existence. Hell, I even hate & despise this stupid, unfair, limiting, boring, pointless, meaningless, & depressing existence.
