Makes you wonder- is it us that is faulty, or is society sick, and depression/SH/loneliness/ despair, etc our response to this sick and broken society? Or I suppose, both.
“Is society healthy, that an individual should return to it? Has not society itself helped to make the individual unhealthy? Of course, the unhealthy must be made healthy, that goes without saying; but why should the individual adjust himself to an unhealthy society? If he is healthy, he will not be a part of it. Without first questioning the health of society, what is the good of helping misfits to conform to society?”

Reminds me of my fav quote: “They called me mad, and I called them mad, and damn them, they outvoted me.” – Nathaniel Lee on being locked up in Bedlam for 5 years.
I don’t trust anyone who thinks everything is ok and who is well-adjusted in spite of everything wrong. Society is profoundly sick like you said. It’s like working for a company that you realize is doing illegal things. Some of us will fight it or leave, but most people will keep collecting their paycheck.
That’s the thing- most ppl don’t believe, or refuse to admit, that society is sick. So the easy thing is to just blame the individual. “Oh you’re depressed, then it must be YOU that is at fault.”

This type of meme makes me chuckle… Some guy in a black turtleneck always says it better when I’m in a bad mood.
Reminds me of those old crime show intros where some guy in a suit is turning toward the camera, smiling and being frozen in place.
