I wonder where I would really go if were to commit suicide today…I guess I fear the unknown , I might’ve killed myself a long time ago if I knew where I was going…I don’t have enough “faith” to be atheist or christian. But I do believe in ghosts , Once I  heard something whisper call my name or I feel like something’s watching me (especially when I’m alone) . And once I had this dream that I was in a dark place and I felt something reach for my stomach and then I woke up my stomach felt weird…
Anyway I think I should become atheist or christian but I don’t really completely agree with christianity.I like atheism but what if god does exist then what? There are so many flaws with christianity so I don’t know…
I’m not sure what to think of NDE’s (Near Death Experiences) like when people say they saw an afterlife or jesus.I don’t agree with christianity mainly because I don’t think a hell should exist. I don’t think immense eternal suffering is a good thing…
And some of the things considered a “sin” aren’t that bad.
If there is no such thing as hell then I’m happy 🙂

Yeah, I hope I come back as one of my spoiled ass dogs and just eat, sleep and hump legs all day. Then get overly excited for walks.
“I don’t have enough “faith†to be atheist or christian.”
Okay… what the hell are you talking about?
Atheism literally means “lacking theism.” Or “without any belief in any god.”
It makes no sense for you to say you “don’t have enough faith to be atheist.”
That’s like saying you don’t have enough fire to make ice. Does not compute!
I was just thinking the other day.. “I don’t have enough fire to make ice”
..and now I know I was foolish to be concerned. 😐
oh cut her a break, she seems young. we didnt know it all either at one point.
Hannah it sounds like you are Agnostic which I think is accepting that there may or may not be a god. I think agnostic is the only logical choice between believer and non-believer. PS Hell is a place right here on earth, stick around you’ll find it.
lol…
“If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice”.

lol @ RT30
and yeah I kinda think there is no afterlife. Heaven or hell exist here on earth and you choose from moment to moment. But I keep choosing wrong dammit!!
I believe in aliens!
It’s the only theory that explains this world wide natural sense of abandonment!
I think people do reborn in other body and other place
I am catolic but for me religions are not that much important they are all talking abot the same God our father.
If you really want to break it down, it’s foolish to believe anything without evidence. Lots of people will tell stories and act like that’s evidence, but it’s not.
Atheism is the only logical choice, because no valid or legitimate evidence in support of the existence of any god, has ever been produced.
I am “assertive” atheist, because i insist on being reasonable, and demanding that everyone else should be reasonable as well.
But, i’m also partly “agnostic,” because obviously we can’t know everything, and we don’t know, for 100% certainty, that there isn’t some other type of god, that isn’t what is described in books, and isn’t able to be observed in reality.
Lacking believe in things that are not supported by evidence, is reasonable. Being unsure about whether to believe something without evidence, is not as good as being sure not to believe something without evidence, until evidence is produced.
“Agnosticism” is a term for people who are afraid of the word “Atheist,” because of what their christian/whatever acquaintances have told them it means.
Atheist just means lacking belief in god. Agnosticism isn’t even a legitimate stance. It’s a property that can apply to both atheism and theism. It basically means “questioning.”
Being an Atheist doesn’t mean that you are completely certain that no god can possibly exist. It just means that belief is absent.
Either you Do, or you Don’t, believe there IS a god. If you’re not sure, that means you lack belief. If you lack belief, you are atheist. It’s the best and most reasonable stance.
@C4:
LOL!
Perfect.
And in line with what i just posted: if you choose not to decide, you are Atheist. 😉
Yep.. Aliens!
This reminds of an Avenged Sevenfold song. I’d post the link but it’ll just get lost in moderation.

“That’s like saying you don’t have enough fire to make ice.”
That’s priceless poetry right there
FYI – everyone is an atheist … some of us just go one god further 😉
appreciation dawg
Allow me to expound further:
The “what if there’s a god?” clause, of atheism.
If i die and find myself in an actual, real, spiritual afterlife, confronted by the knowledge that god was actually real, then that’s okay. If god is worth worshiping, then he is indeed “all good” and “all loving,” and very likely knows that i am atheist, as well as why someone with a capable mind would view the world in such a way. He would probably be /proud/ that i used my miraculous reasoning capabilities to decide that just believing things without evidence is foolish and reckless, and, that i didn’t take that perceived freedom of eternal consequence and run with it, and exploit it for gains, through intentionally harming others. I perceived free will and tried to use it in a good and valuable way, even without expectation of reward or fear of punishment. I usually did the right thing, and always tried to know what that right thing was, as well as always trying to avoid the worst thing, when the best thing wasn’t available.
I do not think there is any god. But if there is, it would most likely be pleased with the way i handled this situation, instead of upset that i didn’t blindly worship something no one could show me, which i’m sure he would be aware that he had not personally revealed to me. If he makes sure i can’t perceive something, then he shouldn’t blame me for not perceiving it; after all, it was evidently his intention not to reveal himself, and thus, his intention for me not to see, and to figure out how to handle myself in that scenario.
At the very least, i am sure i would not be deserving of anything resembling “hell,” because i found a way to value my own actions, as well as consider how they might impact others, without the need for a perceived fear of eternal torment, or the expectation of eternal reward. I tried to do the right things for the sake of doing the right things, not because of fear or expectation of reward. Any god worth worshiping, would certainly find it acceptable to have a personal value of such a principle, without it being imposed or compulsory.
If there is a god, he knows he made me what i am, so he wouldn’t blame me for being what he wanted me to be, and if he wanted me to be something else, he would have made me that.
I’ve often pondered whether a god would create beings specifically intended not to believe or perceive his existence. I think if a god would do such a thing, he would most likely make special allowances or alternate criteria for judgement. If any “god’s” typical people were supposed to believe and worship, but he instead made me and others like me, to be different in the ways we are, then it would be right for us to think about how to live without the need of a god. Perhaps there is a god who wants us to get along fine without needing him. Maybe that’s why he’s absent. Maybe that’s why he’s undetectable. Maybe my purpose is to spread wisdom of reason, logic, discernment, self-sufficiency, cooperation, evolution of perspective, appreciation of perception, consideration of others and the extent of the impacts of our actions…
Or, maybe we’re just naturally figuring out all this stuff, because we realized that there really isn’t a god, and so we need to figure out how to make the world, and ourselves, better, on our own, together, because there is no divine superbeing out there waiting to help us, if only we just believe hard enough and keep praying.
Maybe it’s just time for humanity to take responsibility for ourselves, and make the systems evolve to be better and more sustainable, instead of blindly continuing down the path of destruction chosen for us by those who have manipulated the dissemination of knowledge for millennia.
Maybe we need to figure out how to make the best of whatever “life” is, which includes doing the best we can do, regardless of whether there is or ever was or will be any “God.”
We know we exist, and we know we will die. That, and what we do while we can act, is what matters.
Im an atheist i think when you die its zip nothing.game over thats why we all have to talk about suiside this is a good thread
