So, I have this doctor’s appointment tomorrow.
I’ll try to explain this briefly:
Initially I made this appointment to try and get adderall/ritalin to be able to focus while studying – cus my concentration is zero, for a long time now.
Then, I realized I need to bring up my sleeping problems, cus it’s getting really bad, I can’t sleep, even with sleeping pills, and as last week I was sleeping 16hours, this week I’m sleeping about 4hours. It’s getting weird.
Now, I’m wondering if I should mention the depression (obviously I won’t talk about the suicidal thoughts). I was doing some research and adderall/ritalin apparently is sometimes used for depression as well. But I don’t know.
I don’t want to put in jeopardy getting adderall/ritalin – it’s my last hope.
Have you ever heard anything concerning this issues?
(I don’t live in the states, so getting these medications isn’t as hard, although I know I will have to take some tests, but I also am going to a doctor who I know is used to work with this medication.
And yes, I know it’s pretty much taking amphetamines, but I am running out of options, having in consideration everything that is going on – please don’t judge my choice of wanting to take this, probably wouldn’t take it everyday anyways, I don’t know)

well, I haven’t heard anything about that before, but I do think you should mention the depression. there are other pills to help with your concentration and sleep. Please be honest! good luck.
I’ve tried everything for the concentration.. Nothing works. I really need them to study and pass something this semester otherwise I’m screwed and then I’ll hit even a worst rock bottom than I am at now (which is pretty impossible). If I don’t pass, the consequences will make me worst, and being already in the state that I am, I won’t be able to make it for sure. I’m starting to panick.
f i were you ‘d tell my doctor what you just said. t coulld help. they will help yoou.
My advice is to tell the doctor everything. Don’t mention suicide yet if you’re not ready, the doctor is new, and you don’t trust them yet.
Requests for sleeping pills are reasonable and there’s no way you can kill yourself on them so that shouldn’t be a problem. Stimulants like Ritalin are occasionally prescribed for depression; the main issue would be whether it would interfere further with your sleep, but most doctors can work around that.
An antidepressant might help as well, if you’ve never tried them before.
Good luck; it’s great that you’re asking for some help with your symptoms!
