Over the years of my life people have trusted me with their secrets. Their own stories. Just holding them can put stress on a person, so I decided to share them with whoever is willing to read. I will not use names nor describe the physival apearance of that person.
First, a friend of mine had told me that her mother had been raped during the summer of 2012. She told me it was by someone very close and she is still going to therapy. Although she is recovering from the whole experience, she is making progress. She was not afraid of speaking up (which is something many rape victims do) and was able to get help when needed.
Another girl I had met at camp told me that her sister had gotten pregnant at a very young age. She knew she couldn’t take care of it, and thought that abortion was the right answer. A few months after she had committed suicide. In reality, there really is not “right” choice when one is pregnant. They can choose adoption, but the child will grow up without knowledge of their real parents. Abortion will leave the child lifeless, and keeping it may lead to neglecting it later on.
A boy I had met last year was going through a hard time. His homelife was awful. He told me there was not a single day where he went without argueing with his mother. His dad had left them both when he was too young to remember his face. This was only part of the reason why he harmed himself.
At around the same time I bet a very young girl. Her father was in the army, and her mother didn’t pay much attention to her. When her father was home, everything would lead to an arguement. I was suprised by how much she had to go through, at such a young age.
These are only some of the stories I have been told. The rest I will save for another time.
