It’s been such a long time
Since I’ve felt this stinging sensation
Of ice cold metal and lurid fascination.
Deep down inside, I know it’s wrong of me.
But you don’t see, and that’s okay.
Where do you go from here?
When there’s nowhere to go but down.
Lost within the confines of your mind.
Oh sweet insecurities and deafening possibilities
Of how everything could end…
How would you say goodbye?
To the ones who stood by your side,
Who you thought always hated you
And left you with your crippled self?
How would feel on the day
What more do you have left to say?
The unfinished business? Are you scared?
It’s okay.
It’s alright.
We understand here in the light.
There is no one to judge you now
And no one to see you crying in the darkness alone.
Where do you go from here?
When you’ve reach the lowest of lows?
And it’s time to go on your own sweet release…
But baby, let me tell you,
How sorry I was to do this to you.
And I hope you can find it
In your heart to forgive me…
It wasn’t you, just know that please.
I love you now and forever.
But the world was just asking too much of me…
Asking too much that I couldn’t give…
Asking too much…
Too much…

Is this an original poem or song, or does it have another author? If this is original, you are very talented. This piece makes a few good points. The feeling and desire awakens and goes dormant. It is entirely a war inside of you, visible to no one else. It is always a challenge to imagine a way to solve the problem without causing grief and not saying goodbye, while also not causing yourself to fail. And even though you feel as though no one cares, there is always someone who does, and you KNOW it, deep down. Finally, the problems of the world always seem to be solvable through that simple and beautiful solution.
Wonderfully written. This very much touched and resonated with me.
It was an original piece that I wrote last night.
I’m glad that you liked it… I was hoping someone would be able to connect with it.
Many of the pieces I write are generally on the spot. It literally came from the heart…
