My mom found my rope today.
It was awkward telling her why I’m suicidal. I didn’t tell her the whole reason.
It hurt seeing her cry, though.
I’m a little thankful she found the rope but at the same time, I’m not.
Sigh.
Maybe it’s a sign it’s not your time just yet. It must have been scary for your mom, she obviously cares very much about you if she was in tears. I am glad you were able to be brave enough to talk to her a little bit about how you feel. It must have felt a little good to get some stuff off your chest.
Hey mintcigs, i’m sorry you got caught. Its always very awkward with parents. I feel like i can never talk to mine about my depression but if you can that’s a good step forward. I don’t know if you’ve tried therapy- you can talk to your mom about it- but it was helpful talking to a therapist for me. Its like talking to a stranger, but my case, my therapist really cares and goes out of her way to make sure everything’s all okay with me. Its an option and therapy is completely confidential.
I haven’t gone through any therapy or anything like that. I never properly received help. My mom said she’ll help me look for a therapist. I hope it will help me because I still strongly desire death after this whole incident.
I am about to get therapy myself for the first time and am currently looking for one. I think the biggest and most important thing about therapy and having it be of any benefit is finding a therapist that you are comfortable with and click with. Obviously it can take some time finding the right one so try to be open to trying others if you don’t feel right about the one you start off with. Be sure to tell your mom it’s not working with a particular therapist if you feel that way. The more comfortable you are, the more open you will feel and try to be as honest as you can. Therapy doesn’t work for everyone, but it is some place to start and I think worth a shot. You are very fortunate to have such an understanding mom, some kids don’t have that. Good luck, I hope things get better for you…. give it your best shot! 🙂
