Video games are a good reason, sure.
This is actually a really good list. I gave me a little bit of hope and a lot to think about tonight. Thanks for coming up with it 🙂
Whatever is a good reason to live is also a good reason to die
Here is my personal response to the list – based on my own experience. I found the list somewhat amusing. However, I had issue with a lot of the reasons.
1. Because you care about the world.
-Why should I care about the world?
2. There’s a lot to live for.
-Like? I’ve lived plenty and what I’ve seen is purposeless.
3. You have dreams to fulfill.
-Dreams are something you chase. Nightmares are now and real.
4. Life eventually gets better.
-By that logic it also eventually gets worse.
5. You’re afraid of death.
-I’m afraid of living.
6. Because you can flip your life around.
-How? (#4)
7. Because people need you to live.
-People are selfish.
8. Because someone out there loves you.
-People love me on their own time and convenience. (#7)
9. For religion.
-“Lol”
10. To help someone worse off than you.
-Where are those betters helping me?
11. To find the perfect job or career.
-Perfect? Any job is scarce already.
12. To fall in love.
-And have your heart broken.
13. Because there’s a reason we’re on this planet.
-Reason? We are born, we fight to survive for a less short existence and then die anyways.
14. You want to experience future music, movies, games, technology, cars, buildings etc…
-These experiences are only distractions. At the end of the day life is still empty.
15. You want to make an impact on the world.
-I don’t (#1)
16. Food, pleasure, and comfort.
-Hunger, pain, awkwardness (#14)
17. To enjoy beauty and art.
-(#14)
18. To mature.

19. To learn more about people.
Humans are all similar in behavior within a 99% (#8)

-(#14)
21. Vacations… To explore and travel the world.
-so many material things that mean nothing at the end of one’s life (#14)
22. To create something of value.
Value is a subjective term generated by society. “Something is only worth what another will pay for it”
23. Because our bodies are designed, programmed, and hardwired to live.
Our bodies are destined to die. Our instinct is to prolong our sole existence at all costs. (Murder, theft, lying, etc)
24. To experience good and bad.
-Check.
25. To finish the story.
-History is skewed and writen by the victor. After I am gone, my story will not matter to me.
26. To party and have as much fun you can.
-(#14)
27. Because you are responsible for people (and/or pets).
-Nope.
28. You have goals.

36. You want to carry out your destiny. (Whatever it may be.)
-Death is the destination for all.
37. There is someone you want to meet.
-Nope. At some point everyone will let you down. It is an inevitable, undeniable truth.
38. Because everyone else is living.
-People die daily.
39. To share wisdom with a younger generation.
-They need to learn things for themselves.
40. To strengthen and help others reach their potential.
-Some of us have more potential than others. PE=mgh
41. Because.
-???
42. To experience change.
-Change has been forced upon us and experienced already thus leading to these thoughts
43 To become a better individual.

-Outside of suicide and terminal illness, there is no preparation or knowing of when death comes.
45. Because you’re obligated to live.
-Says who?

-Why then is being closer to death considered thrill seeking, hmm? (#14)
57. Because you’re too young to die.
-26 is old enough
58. For addictions. (The good kind I hope.)
-Addictions of any kind are only a distraction.
59. To beat your rivals and those who ever doubted you. Show them who’s boss.
-Maybe they were right.
60. To make others laugh.
-(#8)
61. Maybe to get revenge on someone.
-I could care less. At the end they’ll die too.
62. To finish collecting something.

74. Because you want to enjoy and make the most of your life.
-I don’t (#68, 40)
75. To serve your country.
-That is more like being undead than dead or living. Mindless zombies, they are (I still appreciate those who serve, just saying).
76. To give love and hope.
-No.
77. Because you can!
-No.
78. To be better than you were yesterday.
-Or worse. (#4)

-I am a snowflake. Snowflakes melt.
80. Because you belong here.
-Clearly, I don’t fit in.
81. Because the world is your oyster.
-Oysters are aphrodisiacs. Aphrodisiacs lead to sex. Aphro – disiacs. Disiacs sounds like disease. Aphro makes me think of afroturf. Afroturf is artificial grass.
Hippies had “sex” on grass. Grass is green. Green is the color of money. Sex sells. The illuminati is on money. Illuminati are oysters.

-(#8)
99. Because there’s no logical reason to kill yourself.
-I am “Logical”
100. You don’t want to die.
-I do
You’re right. For every reason to live, there is a reason to suicide. At least we have free will. If we didn’t, we probably wouldn’t be able to off ourselves. We’d just be empty robots.
Living the same day, doing the same things over and over again: wake up, pass time, sleep. Repeat. Die.
Thank you for typing out this list. I appreciate it very much. 🙂
Sometimes I forgot those reasons somehow…..
Nicely written 😀 Thank you very much for reminding, Ryder.
You are welcome.
