Dolores tucks her children into bed. Conroy stretches himself across their feet. His tail lightly thumping the bed spread. She sits at the edge of her own bed, examining the card. The money. She finds herself still bewildered, yet oddly comfortable. The first time in years she’s felt safe. The first time she’s been sure her children were safe. She smiles a new smile, a smile of hope and excitement for what comes next.
The same cannot be said for Dale. He stands sweating in his sweltering living room. Flynt, now approaching him, commands “have a seat Dale.”
Dale stumbles backwards into to sofa. “H-huh how do you know my name? Are you some kind of demon?” He stutters.
Flynt glides his finger across the name tag on Dales shirt. Searing hot pain shoots through his chest.
“Far from it…” Flynt replies snidely. “I am one of many…many pushed into death by the ones like you. The ones who enjoy hurting others for their own amusement” Flynt presses his hand to the top of Dales head.
Dales shoes begin to smoke. He’s overcome with immeasurable pain. He pulls himself sideways and begins to stand.
“Too much pain, just want to escape?” Flynt snarls at him
The sofa seems to have a grip on him. Drawing him in tighter and tighter. Pulling and contorting his as the sofa folds into itself.
“I’m sorry” Dale cries out.
“You’ve yet to experience sorrow” the sofa bellows back.
The sofa continuously melds and folds until it’s completely gone, along with Dale.
“I AM SHAD” the thunderous voice booms. “Welcome… To nothing”.
Dale finds himself, unable to find himself. The heat is gone. His senses dull. He reaches for himself, but feels nothing. Not even his own arm movements. Filled with anxiety he tries to think, but he can’t. He simply can’t think. His mind has gone blank. “So, do you prefer this over the inferno?” Shad inquires mockingly.
Dale wants to respond, but he cannot find his words. All he can do is stay in a state of infinite sorrow, sadness, emptiness. As if it’s consuming him, but without feeling, he’s unable to even confirm his own existence.

As I see it, Dale may be a part of something that will become so much bigger in the story, as he must have a background story himself. jajaja sorry I am just rambling on what the text is making me think of, not trying to lead anything. You know how when I start commenting I comment a lot. Sorry.
I am liking it, the story
@Alan Ominous
This is awesome so far haha.. I can’t wait to see where you go with this.
Thanks for the positive feedback, thanks even more for the unique character challenges. I’m working on part 3, trying to incorporate the new characters.
