Do you have someone you know personally, or a role model/possible celebrity figure whose suicide or death you admire? Sometimes, I think of the deaths of others to help build up courage in the fact they could go through with it. You could either be inspired by the method itself or the components of their life surrounding the death.
For example: I often think of Gary Stewart who was a 70’s country singer from where I live. He had some good hits in his day, reaching the top of the charts. Most all of his songs were about drinking, except they were borderline novel with a sad twist to them. His son killed himself in 98 and his wife died from natural causes before in 2003 Gary shot himself in the neck while lying in bed at his home. I believe his songs are laced with suicidal thoughts disguised as quirky honky-tonk songs with catchy lyrics.
The first lyrics on the first song on his first album: “Everyday I tell myself it’s temporary…”
Check out these lyrics or even look him up on youtube… the music isn’t my cup of tea, but it’s the meaning behind them http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/gary_stewart/an_empty_glass.html
What about you guys?
