I just wanted to know some things that keep everyone going or make you feel better when you’re down and things of that nature?
Mine is my two horses who I love very much and my 7 year old nephew. When I’m down I also think of once when my nephew was asking me and my sister (his mom) if he would die one day and so we told him yes, but he had a very long time before he would ever have to worry about that and then he asked me if I would die one and I told him yes and he started crying and told me that I’m never allowed to die and that always helps me when I’m feeling really down.
What about you?

Going to symphony rehearsals seems to help a lot. It’s only once a week, but I almost always leave feeling better than I did when I got there.
Being online and having the freedom to surf anywhere I want helps, because in a way it makes up for my physical disabilities and mobility limitations.
This site helps me a lot because I can be among people who UNDERSTAND what depression really is. We can share our lousy rotten days with one another, and we can also let loose and have a little fun sometimes too.
Back when I was in high school, I remember it helped a lot to keep a journal.
chelle428,

Good Question.
Hazy Day Sunflower,
it’s always a pleasure to hear from you! 🙂 how about chickens? 🙂
Doing their chicken thing today. It’s raining and they keep hanging by the back door like feathered hobos.
Hazy Day Sunflower, AWWWW! they love you!!!! give them something special!
They aren’t residing in a soup pot today, that is the special they are getting.
My loving old dozy dog who is on his last leg at the moment. I ride, I doing jumping competitions. My horse Salamander Keeper is one of my best friends. Next to all Trusty here. (My Lab)
🙂 That’s pretty cute.
I think what gets me by is focusing on what I want rather than what I don’t want (i.e. terrible days, depression, suffering, rejection). I think Russel Brand said something to the effect of: “Be led by your talent, not your self-loathing – those other things you just have to manage.” He’s not the only person who has said something along those lines, and I believe there is some truth to it. If you don’t base your life around things that make you happy, if you don’t primarily deal with the good aspects, when are you gonna get to them? There is enough crap in the world for many lifetimes of examination. But take your mind off it and onto something better.
Other times I believe more in something I used to be able to do before I took medication: find meaning in life, even in sadness and suffering. I think that’s what wisdom is: not chasing the rainbow, but loving it just as you love an overcast sky or a thunderstorm, or anything else.
“Because you don’t live near a bakery doesn’t mean you have to go without cheesecake.”
Hedy Lamarr
I never leave the house without cheesecake. It’s a must.
Breathing, for once
for ONE
That keeps me going. Food on my table. Let’s see..my cigarettes! Not having cancer. And being an un-person that is totally ignored or laughed at makes me happier than you think. Because I feel I am special. Let’s give it for all the non-persons out there!
