When you point out the ills of society to ppl- of the greed of the elites that keep the rest of us in poverty, the corruption of our politicians/corporations/medical industrial complex/the war machine that bankrupts the country to line the pockets of the uber wealthy, of the ineptitude of police to help but yet the ability to constantly screw ppl over, how the poor just gets poorer, how the sick just get sicker, how the rich just get rich- off of the backs of the masses that actually do the work ofc!
Corruption. Injustice. Unfairness. Poverty.
Or of just how the average selfish assholes ALWAYS gets ahead while the few good ppl remaining get screwed.
Does it all not bother most ppl? Apparently not.
What about the girl that was MELTED into the couch?
Or the 2yo that was STAPLED to the wall?
Or the father who drove his twins off a bridge to kill them?
Those are not the “exceptions.” This is the shit that happens every day- rapes, murders, abuse, abductions, etc.
But hey- stop being so “depressing!” “Go watch some happy puppy vids!”
That’s literally the shit I get told by so many “normal” people- people who don’t seem to care about all the atrocities that go on every day. Hell- forget atrocities- just basic decent human kindness is lacking in this world.
But hey- stop being so “depressing!” “Go watch some happy puppy vids!”
Yeah, like that solves the problem. Just bc we pretend this shit doesn’t exist doesn’t mean it stops existing or happening when we close our eyes and ears.
This world is crap and full of shitty people. Yeah yeah, there’s “a few good ppl left” but what good is that 10% when the rest of humanity is crap? And no the ppl who do nothing when they see shit happen are NOT good ppl ! And just bc someone hasn’t committed a crime doesn’t make that person a “good” person.
Forget the extreme cases of crimes- just every day “normal” ppl are crap- nobody cares about anybody anymore. I know so many ppl who’s attitudes are “well it didn’t happen to me so i don’t care.” And some plain say it too. Are these good ppl? I don’t think so. But the world is trained to think that just bc someone hasn’t committed a crime, that they’re “good” people.
Sigh, what’s my rant? Constantly being told by “normal” ppl to “just not watch the news” and everything will be hunky-dorey! Bc, you know, if you don’t watch the awful awful news, you can pretend that bad things don’t exist or happen.
Oh yeah, I HAVE shut the news off for long periods of times before. It doesn’t make me any happier or less depressed.
And no, it isn’t about the “news” or random ppl being abused or killed far away or whatever. It’s the fact that people nearby- to your left, to your right, etc are just crap ppl. How many “friends” or family will actually be there when you need it? Ok some of you have that, and that’s fine. But how many don’t? This world is crap bc so many ppl are crap. Not all ppl, but many.
Anyhow, just the rantings of a depressive nobody. -_-

*shrug* I try to dwell as much with the darkness as I can get away with. Still, I’m aware of what I’m missing, so I can go to work. Not that there isn’t time to know, but that knowing would potentially put me over the edge.
It might be that my respite is horror and true crime as often as not. I need to be able to up the scare, so I have to spend some time being positive such that I get the contrast. However, minus that respite I wouldn’t be able to look at as unpleasant things as I do every day.
the well of unpleasant sure doesn’t seem to have a depth. I can’t get to the bottom, and I’ve tried.
