Today I had a breakdown again, and I decided to do a list of things that I really enjoy and I’ll miss if I kill myself, because I will be… uhm… dead. So these are 16 things that can help me get through this day, and maybe tomorrow, and next week.
There is nothing very special here, but these are the things that bring some joy to my life, and they are my reasons to stay alive and not kill myself. I will read them every morning so they can help me battle my urges. Tell me about yours too! 🙂
1. My Parents
2. My Boyfriend
3. The Sound of the Rain
4. French Fries
5. Hot Chocolate
6. Salad
7. Strawberries
8. The Ocean
9. Color Pencils
10. Going to Greece someday
11. Having a Family
12. Sunrise
13. Writing
14. Harry Potter

Amy that sounds like a wonderful list with lots to look forward to.
To get through each day I have,
Parents
Friends
Faith
Coffee
Being kind and helping others. I like to imagine a kind gesture, helpful hand and warm smile as a rain drop in a lake. It may seem small, but maybe I created enough of a ripple to make a positive change.
A desire to see if tomorrow, am I worse or better. How about in a week, a month. As bad as things are right now, I am curious if things will get better or worse for me.
May you continue to fight those urges and one day find lasting peace.
Why do I want to die?
Loneliness
Alienation
Career failure
Failure with the opposite sex
Underachievement
Procrastination
Demands
Regrets
Wasted potential
Addition
Ageing
Unfairness: good shit happens to bad people and vice-versa
Why do I want to live?
Maybe one day it will all get better
*addiction
I think that making a list of things to be thankful for is a really good idea. We all have things to be thankful for that we could live for.
my list
My Family and friends is top of the list
I also want to live long because a lot of people said I would die young and I want to live long and prove them wrong
also > Beer, computers, art, video games, to live to see history unfold.
guns, sex, to hope that things will get better
music, concerts, money and the hope that I will hit the lottery someday.
those are somethings I am happy to be alive
I also like to be alive to see more posts from Hazy Day and Cordless
lol
So far I am staying because of:
My son
My GF
My next GF
Europe
That should keep me occupied for the next two years.
Good grief, which word triggered the mod flag?
I’m glad you found reasons to stay alive.
As I have no one I’ll list my reasons to want to die:
I’m (a girl) ugly;
I failed in my career;
My family doesn’t respect my privacy (although they love me);
I can’t bear the iniquity of the people;
Live is meanless;
I have health problems that doctors can’t solve.
wanttodie2,
i don’t know what to say, a girl is a girl they are wonderful!!!
everyone fails at their career most of the time before they have success.
my family doesn’t respect my privacy that’s why i moved out! 🙂
the iniquity in people is a sad one, you have to realize it’s not your fault. everyone would be equal if you were running the show.
live in the end is meaningless, it up to you to give it meaning while your alive.
health problems are hard to solve in many ways we still are primitive and are witch doctors still.
Thanks. I really appreciate your suport. I have this problems for a long time. I ‘ve thought a lot about it but in the practice it is different. It’s really hard to keep alive. I made my decision and it would be better finally to rest.
My teenage daughter.
Sex
Drugs
Money
Murder
lol.
Honestly I don’t know why I’m still here, but I’m sure I have reasons. I just need to really think about it.
Obligations to people who would be affected if I died
And I also really want to see if Trump actually becomes president
Re: Trump
Hahah… oh gawd. A potential dictator, or a potential Russian spy? Welcome to 21st century America, folks.
As to the question… right now I want to stay alive so that I can go on an epic road trip, ideally starting September.
(The potential Russian spy being Ms. Clinton.)
At this point, I have no sympathy if America crashes and burns due to stupid people voting him in. In fact, it might make interesting viewing. Much better than tv anyway. I think that anybody who didn’t vote for him should be allowed to move to Canada, or wherever. Everyone else can stay and reap the “rewards” of their stupidity. Oh, and same applies if Clinton gets in.
Most of the other candidates didn’t look so appealing either, though, did they? I tend to avoid elections and voting. I dislike the way politicians all try to smear each other’s campaign with petty nonsense, insults, and slander. I mean, really, we want people like that run our countries, in between their sandwich breaks, Vogue Photoshoots, Instagram selfies, and pretending to be civil around Vladimir Putin?
(He was the sexiest of them all, some years ago. Too bad he’s also a jackass.)
True, they’re all corrupt. Except Bernie who seems to be the best choice. At least he has stood by his convictions for many years, has not been bought out, and is not racist, misogynistic, homophobic or sexist. (OK, yep, I almost don’t even need to spell out who I’m referring to there.) I don’t understand people who will choose someone who so blatantly insults them or anyone else. I suppose when you play on people’s emotions and fears, you can get them to do almost anything. I don’t know anything about Vladimir Putin. I’m not in the US, and this year is the first time I’ve taken any notice of politics at all.
This election cycle is a perfect example of “Idiocracy” in action.
Idiocracy is a film that takes place 500 years into the future. People with low IQ’s have tons of babies, and people with high IQ’s don’t. This happens over the course of numerous generations until eventually society becomes so stupid, they decide that Trump and Hillary are viable presidential candidates. Society is comprised of NASCAR fans who can’t spell to save their life, and only absorb news through soundbites.
Haha, no but really, it’s a good movie.
YES! I have seen that movie. You are right on point! It’s the beginning of the end.
Yeah, that movie is kind of painfully funny (in the sense that it hits a little too close to home).
People already barely have the attention span to read. Have you seen Facebook lately?? Click-bait headlines which don’t require you to read the article. (Well, actually they do, cos the headlines are usually misleading, but barely anyone can be bothered to read the article.)
Empires rise and fall, it’s all cyclical and temporary. Genghis Kahn, The Holy Roman Empire, Spanish and English colonization, America as the dominant superpower, the housing bubble, the dot-com bubble, etc. Everyone gets their time to shine, then it ends and the new regime begins their temporary reign.
I live in the sister country to the U.S., so what goes on there definitely effects life here. Among with many others, I lost thousands of dollars when the U.S. stock markets crashed a few years ago, and prices for groceries, fuel, and other imports are often dependent on the exchange rate. So yeah, I’m a little nervous about what might go down in the next four years.
Plus, I like traveling in the U.S., as it offers a lot more variety than my country. (I live right next to the border.)
I guess Bernie still has a chance. We’ll see.
For your sake, I hope he does.
I live in Brasil, so you can imagine that our situation is worst…. but I have so many troubles in my live that I can’t think in the politic situation.
Yeah, I’m finding it hard to summon up any caring about the whole thing too.
when i come to think about it… im staying alive because i might be sad sometimes… just like right now… but y’know… if youre actually sad, it might mean that there were brighter days that helped you go through life. and im just waiting for these days again y’know… kinda hard to stay positive, but trying my best… always trying to avoid failures as much as possible
The only reason I have to live is so I can meet my boyfriend in person in 2 years. Other than that, I’d try to kill myself again, but my parents would get in big trouble and I don’t want to put them through that.
