empty, that’s all I can seem to say to myself, empty, somethings missing where there should be something

sadness like a song I can’t get out of my head, hopelessness is an endless nerve grinding beat, was always there, I just lost the ability to push it away

I had nightmares most of the night, experiencing a situation of psychotic depression, a complete lack of faith in the world around me to be consistent or fair. I believe that if I wasn’t sleeping 12 hours a day, I’d probably be having an incident.

Taking some time for self, IE trying to make peace with unemployment is putting a few uncomfortable truths in front of me. The big one is there is a reason I’ve held onto unhealthy career relationships, having work to do soothes me in a way I haven’t found any replacement for. I refrained from posting last night, because I thought I had a therapy appointment today…. and I did, it just was occupied entirely by treatment plan review. How this works is that I spend about half an hour entering answers to the same psychological screeners I’ve been doing for 15 years, then spend my entire therapy session talking about my answers.

Which means that today, my first therapy appointment in a month, was spent entirely doing the state’s business.

I had my interview yesterday morning, and it went reasonably well, with an exception; I won’t know if I got the job or not for a week, and it will be at least two weeks after that before I can start…..

I was making myself some PB&J and suddenly a sob escaped my throat, and it was then I realized that I was not nearly as okay as I am trying to appear with the situation vis a vis job loss. I feel betrayed, and the part of me that doesn’t want to trust anyone feels vindicated.

Right, so backstory; I’ve been working as an electrical apprentice for about three and a half months. I’m on my second project, which involves working overnight in a Walmart, a sort of super department store we’ve got around here. Everyone who works there hates it, it is a massive pit of misery. I had been told I wouldn’t be required to work overtime or weekends, and here I am doing both….  so going in I probably wasn’t in the best mindset.

I was supposed to start a new project last week, so seven days ago I stayed up all night, because the project is going to involve working overnights…. and when I woke up the next afternoon there was no project. I spent the week working on little other stuff, because essential material has yet to be delivered. I even worked Saturday, something I almost never do.

among the lies that the crisis line has told me, that I’m “so strong” for surviving has got to be one of the laziest. Today I took it on, and they said others wouldn’t be strong enough. I said that I envied them, those without this “strength”, because they would now be dead, where as I’m not.

I don’t think they had a script for that, but they stopped telling me I was “strong”…. so that’s at least me with the high ground.
