On Wednesday it was Challenge Day.

I’m a college junior now….whoopee. I am failing out of school, crazy amount of money in debt, without a job, and have moved back in with my mother.

I’m failing because of my depression. I couldn’t get out of bed for almost a month and there’s no recovery from that. But after that month I was still so lethargic that I didn’t go to classes, because why the fuck should I?

Life right now has officially hit a boiling point that’s too hot; I’m melting away. My focus throughout the days now are shot, I’m more robotic in movement and speech than ever before. Just today at work I couldn’t talk to anyone, it just felt too heavy on my throat to speak (I’m more introverted). I had a friend, lemme back up…… my husband knew this guy, they used to be the best of friends. They had known each other since they were 12. The guy got non Hodgkin s lymph node cancer when he was a teenager. Tomorrow I go back to college. I haven’t done any of the work. Despite what my mum has been saying, it’s not due to me being lazy. So…my thought for the day is that I will probably never be happy. I don’t I have it in me. You don’t get to live how I’ve lived and be happy. There is no peace for me here.

Despite that, for the time being, I think I still want to live. I still want to pursue my goals, however out of reach they seem, even knowing that gaining them will bring nothing but momentary satisfaction before the gnawing discontent returns.

I think thats the sad truth about everyone whos sad, and depressed,
They were brilliant, if not brilliant, they were adequate at some point of time, and then due to something or someone, now they arent good enough. And that makes them think they never were good enough.

Today at work it is a casual attire day, so I wore my To Be or Not To Be soliloquy sweater. We had a client come in and our receptionist is on holiday, so I am the backup, and I am to greet and take care of the few clients that come in on New Years Eve. Everyday is the same. I can’t sleep, I sit in bed trying to remember why I even do this anymore. When I get up I’m in pain and I shut myself in this little prison I’ve made of my room. I’m truly alone, I don’t exist to anyone.

When no one is home sometimes I’ll stare out my front windows and wonder what it’s like being those people that walk around with friends without having to worry about panic attacks or breakdowns. Who has hope their life will be better?

Just curious- how many of you guys have hope that your life will be better and that you’ll be happy / find happiness at some point in your life? And how many people believe that they’ll be depressed forever or that their life isn’t likely to get better?

Also, if you could include your age, or approximately how old you are (like 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 65+, under 21, teenager, tween, etc).
